A most blessed Sunday to you all. I know I say it all the time but I mean it every time, thank you for all you do. There is a lot in today’s newsletter. First of all, there is important information for us to know about the Flame of Love in Međugorje. There are some good opportunities coming up and a number of important prayer requests.

Međugorje Update

One of my top goals in visiting Međugorje this May was to find out why we do not have a particularly good reputation there. This is in spite of the fact that many people have come to the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary BECAUSE of their experiences in Međugorje. There are two important topics to address regarding Međugorje: how we have been asked to behave while there and the status of the Flame of Love houses in Međugorje.

Conducting ourselves properly in Međugorje

My meeting with Archbishop Cavalli, the Apostolic Visitator for Međugorje, was most informative and he was very helpful and he was very positive about the Flame of Love. He explained that so many people pass through Međugorje from so many different spiritualities and affiliations that it would be mass confusion if he allowed everyone to promote what interests them. Thus, no one is allowed to promote anything besides Međugorje while in Međugorje. This applies to everyone and not just the Flame of Love. Of course, we can have casual conversations where we share what we are doing and what we are involved in but we must not be distributing literature, leaving literature behind, or actively promoting the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary while in Međugorje. As much as we would like to, it would be in direct disobedience to the Apostolic Visitator appointed by the Vatican. Please make sure our people understand this when they visit Međugorje.

The Houses in Međugorje

Regarding the Flame of Love houses in Međugorje, these are a private and appreciated undertaking but are not official houses of the Flame of Love Movement. They have not yet been approved by the Church in Međugorje and so we cannot recommend them. We do hope they will be approved eventually as they are very nice facilities.

Prayer Requests

A number of our leaders are seriously ill right now. Corinna Magdalene Chang, a member of and musician for our team in Singapore, has been diagnosed with bladder cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs and has been given 90 days to live. Please keep her in prayer. Many others in the Singapore team are facing very difficult trials.

Ruth Aguilar, our leader in Paraguay is in the hospital with pneumonia.

Huda Muasher, our leader in Jordan has COVID.

Please pray for Anita de Torres, our long serving National Coordinator in Ecuador who is recovering from Bells Palsy.

And please keep praying for each other by name. I do not want to compromise privacy but I know many of you are under enormous pressure – the pressure that shapes and refines us but also hurts and gives each of us the opportunity to exercise the sacrifice of our time in loving prayer for each other.

Indian Statue Update

We have good news regarding the report of the miraculously bleeding statue in India. The investigation was stalled because the Archbishop retired but now the new Archbishop of Madurai has been named so we hope the investigation will quickly resume. Again, as Father Jorge, our International Spiritual Advisor, has made clear, we must not proclaim a miracle before the Bishop does and thus should not be promoting this occurrence until the investigation is concluded and the official statement is made by the Bishop’s office.

Mexico Young Adults Conference

The Movement in Mexico is hosting a Flame of Love Conference for young adults – ages 18 to 28 – from August 2 through August 4 at The Sanctuary of Christ the King in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. Any young adults from anywhere are welcome to register. The event will be in Spanish.

New Countries, Training Opportunities, Healing Families

We continue to see many new countries contact us; please keep them in prayer. I hope to meet with Denmark, Tanzania, Croatia, and Zimbabwe within the next two weeks.

Given so much interest, we will launch the new leaders training cenacle for African and European time zones at the request of Lesotho. It will be each Thursday evening at 8PM Lesotho time. That is also 8PM CET this time of year, 7PM BST, 9PM for East Africa and Jordan. Please pass this along to your countries if there are any who would like to attend. This training will be in English. I am thinking that we could live stream this training to your social media channels. If that would be of interest to you, please let me know and we’ll set that up.

The Philippines has asked about another leaders training cenacle for APAC time zones. For those of you in Asia Pacific, please let me know if there is interest in your countries. If there is enough interest, we will start another one.

I don’t normally post links to the recording of the International Cenacle but this last time we covered the topic of healing families through the Flame of Love. English International Cenacle

Speaking of the English International Cenacle, I would like to have more voices than mine. Now that we have a large number of experienced, English speaking leaders, I’d like to have those voices leading the cenacle. Please let me know if you would be interested.

Fund raising: I’d also like to start using the tools we have acquired to make it possible for people to donate to the International Movement during the English International Cenacle. It would be only a glancing comment with a quick note about our needs and where to donate as I don’t want to make a big deal about it. However, we are starting to see some very significant upcoming expenses as you can see at https://www.flameoflove.info/flame-of-love-projects/ and I’m sure there will be more. Unlike the National Movements, the International Organization does not have members and does not regularly communicate with people to alert them to our needs. Almost all the funding thus far has come from donations when I speak at a location. I do not plan to start these requests in the International Cenacle for a couple of months because some of you have just added your social media channels to the International Cenacle live stream and I don’t want the first thing they see to be an appeal for donations! However, please let me know if you have concerns about this idea.
